We’re all for extra holidays and celebrations around here, so World Marmite Day seemed like a day we needed to get behind! And what could be better than a little marmite spread over some of the best bread in town?
The People’s Bread Co. is handmade in Wanaka by Jeremy and Ruth Heath. They grind the grain themselves right before making each batch of 100% organic whole grain bread. They leave their dough to ferment up to 24 hours, which activates the wild yeast and good bacteria like lactobacilli. It's truly unlike any bread you've tasted and we consider ourselves so lucky to have their sourdough baking talents right here on our doorstep.
You can find their bread in a few local shops, like Mediterranean Market, Fresh Link, Organic Wholefoods and the Hawea Store. They even offer bread delivery and a bread subscription, so you never have to go without!
While both these dishes are classic Marmite recipes, the key upgrade here is using The People’s Bread Co. Rye Sourdough. It's got the best crust and texture, and so much flavour in every bite.
